In this speech I outline the Crisafulli government’s practical approach to tackling Queensland’s housing crisis. I stress that while the opposition relies on yelling and “fake rage”, our government works together to deliver real solutions. I highlight the value of the ministerial housing taskforce, which brings key ministers together to boost supply. I explain how the former government’s Housing Investment Fund worsened pressures in my community by buying existing homes and displacing tenants. I reaffirm our focus on increasing supply—“supply, baby, supply”—through the $2 billion Residential Activation Fund and genuine partnerships with local councils. I also welcome fast-tracked regional plan reviews that will support growth across the regions.
