Major safety upgrades are set to improve travel for the Gatton community, with the Crisafulli Government set to start works at the Spencer Street and William Street intersection.
The proposed improvements focus on upgrading traffic signals, installing a dedicated right turn lane, extending right turn lanes and improving safety and rideability for pedestrians and cyclists.
This project is part of the Crisafulli Government’s commitment to enhance road safety and reduce crashes through the Targeted Road Safety Program.
Member for Lockyer Jim McDonald said the Crisafulli Government understood the importance of this road to the locals and, unlike the former Labor Government, is committed to listening to the community.
“I’m proud to be part of a government who recognises the importance of safety at this major intersection to our community,” Mr McDonald said.
“The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland’s future after a decade of decline under Labor.
“This investment highlights our commitment to deliver a safer, more reliable road network by reducing the risks that motorists in my community face every day.”
