Member for Lockyer Jim McDonald has passed on his congratulations to the electorate’s latest successful applicants to Round 108 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
‘In round 108, clubs and organisations in Lockyer were successful in receiving a combined total of over $250,000.’ said Mr McDonald. ‘This money will give a much-needed boost to some of Lockyer’s community groups and sporting clubs and allows them to continue doing the great work they do.’
Mr McDonald was delighted to receive news of the club’s success and encouraged any community organisations looking for assistance to apply.
Among the successful applicants were Laidley Little Athletics who received $35,000 to purchase a new line marker and other equipment.
Other successful applicants included the Lowood Recreational Complex Association who also received $35,000 and the Gatton Swimming Club who received $34,988 to install lane ropes and purchase other equipment.
The GCBF is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program and distributes approximately $54 million a year to communities across Queensland. It’s a great way for community organisations to get money for projects that might otherwise be out of reach.
Round 110 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is now open, with applications closing at 11.59pm on the 30th of June 2021. Mr McDonald said that he is always happy to provide support for the community and sporting groups that complete the application process and he encouraged nominees to continue applying if they were unsuccessful in previous rounds.
